Airports Council International (ACI) World has named Cheryl Marcell (pictured) as its new director of communications and events, based at its Montréal headquarters. Marcell, deputy director for marketing and public relations at Sacramento County Airport System, starts her new role on August 1. She replaces long serving Nancy Gautier who declined to relocate to Canada from Geneva, Switzerland, for family reasons.

 

Emirates SkyCargo has launched a new B777F service to the Far East and Australia operating Dubai-Singapore-Sydney-Hong Kong-Dubai. The new aircraft has a payload of 103 tonnes of cargo. The new service takes the airline’s import capacity to Australia to 1,370 tonnes per week. 

Dublin Airport will welcome Emirates in January 2012 when the carrier begins daily services to Dubai.

 

Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Commissioner Rosemarie Andolino joins Scott Mowrer, Cathay Pacific Airways senior vice president, Americas, for the airline’s first flight from Chicago O’Hare to Hong Kong. 

 

Qatar Airways will launch services to a fifth destination in China this winter when it inaugurates a three times weekly service from its Doha International Airport hub to Chongqing on November 28.
