Dragonair has announced Patrick Yeung as its new CEO. Yeung joined the airline from John Swire & Sons (China) Limited and succeeds James Tong in the role. He says: “The Dragonair team has never forsaken its people-oriented culture and customer-minded approach to service and has soared to new heights in recent years.”

New female CEO at Wayne County Airport Authority

Turkia Awada Mullin has joined the growing band of female airport bosses in the US after being named the new CEO of Detroit Metro operator, Wayne County Airport Authority. She will be responsible for the strategic direction, management and administration of the authority, which operates Detroit’s Metropolitan Wayne County and Willow Run airports.

Edmonton International Airport has appointed Todd Doherty (pictured)

as route development director, reporting to Peter McCart, vice president, strategy. Doherty will work alongside Carol Hutchins who will lead air service development in Europe and the Americas and he will also head up air cargo development at EIA. Previously he was director aviation services with Prince George Airport Authority.

Airports Council International (ACI) World has named Cheryl Marcell (pictured) as its new director of communications and events, based at its Montréal headquarters. Marcell, deputy director for marketing and public relations at Sacramento County Airport System, starts her new role on August 1. She replaces long serving Nancy Gautier who declined to relocate to Canada from Geneva, Switzerland, for family reasons.

Philip Saunders (pictured) is Air Malta’s new chief commercial officer. He joins Air Malta with a strong track record built up over 20 years in the industry. Most recently, Saunders held the position of CEO at Caribbean Airlines, where he delivered a sustained transformation of the customer experience and achieved profitability one year ahead of plan.

SkyTeam has appointed Michael Wisbrun, as its new managing director, replacing  Marie-Joseph Malé, who has  decided not to extend his contract  for personal reasons, effective from June 1, 2011. Wisbrun will be  based in Amsterdam and be responsible for implementing the alliance’s future strategic plan, including expanding the SkyTeam network and developing new products and services.

Peter Davies, has been appointed CEO of Malta Airlines.  He was formerly managing director of Air Southwest in the UK and also previously headed up SN Brussels as CEO. Davies has over 35 years’ experience in the aviation industry, including considerable cargo expertise, thanks to senior board positions in DHL based in Europe  and the US.
