The first service landed at Sydney Airport this afternoon (July 3).
Sydney Airport CEO, Kerrie Mather, said: “This new service will cut at least three hours of travelling time and means that passengers will be able to travel non-stop from Buenos Aires to Sydney.
“Latin America is one of our major growth markets with more Australians discovering its amazing cities and incredible natural attractions.
“More Latin Americans – particularly younger travellers – are also visiting Australia each year, with average growth over the past 20 years of nearly 10%.
“This is well above the average of six per cent growth in international passengers a year.”
Aerolineas Argentinas’s new non-stop Buenos Aires service departs from Sydney three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The carrier has a fleet of 30 aircraft flying to 56 destinations.
