Spirit Airlines has doubled the number of destinations it flies to from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport with the addition of routes to Atlanta, New York LaGuardia and Orlando.

Furthermore the low-cost airline plans to more than triple the number of cities served from DFW by this Spring, with routes to Tampa starting on May 4, Myrtle Beach May 3, with Boston and Phoenix-Mesa starting on May 22.

Before the announcement, the carrier flew just three flights from DFW to Chicago O’Hare, Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, but this has now been doubled to six with the addition of Atlanta, LaGuardia and Orlando.

In addition, Spirit is also awaiting governmental approval to begin services between DFW and Toluca/Mexico City.

Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport, said: “We welcome the addition of new Spirit Airlines service from DFW to Atlanta, Orlando and New York City, and we are pleased to see even more flights coming later this spring.

“Spirit's tremendous expansion at our airport means that our passengers will benefit from having more travel options and more choices to fly.”

Spirit Airlines currently operates more than 175 daily flights to over 45 destinations throughout the US, Latin America and Caribbean.
