Tiger Airways launches fifth Indian route

News Thursday, 09 February 2012 15:50 Written by Dominic Welling

Singaporean low-cost carrier (LCC) Tiger Airways has announced it will launch four weekly flights from Singapore to Kochi - Kerala’s financial district - from April 27.

Stewart Adams, managing director of Tiger Airways Singapore, said: “With the addition of Kochi to our portfolio of destinations, Tiger Airways will now serve five destinations in India, providing travellers from Singapore and the region with even more great value travel options.

“Singapore is India’s largest trade and investment partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the launch of our Kochi route will further increase accessibility for leisure and business travellers whilst encouraging bilateral connectivity within ASEAN.”

The airline will fly four times a week to Kochi when the service launches – on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Tiger Airways was launched in September 2004, and today operates flights to 33 destinations across 13 countries and territories in Asia-Pacific from Singapore and Australia.

The carrier has a fleet of 32 A320s and is committed to increasing its fleet size to 68 by December 2015.
