News Thursday, 26 January 2012 17:05 Written by Dominic Welling

Low-cost airline Germanwings it is to start flying from Cologne to Nador in Morocco six weeks earlier than planned, due to unexpected demand.

The first Germanwings flight to Nador will now take place on March 30, rather than the originally planned date in the airline’s 2012 Summer Flight schedule of May 25.

This summer the carrier will initially fly to Nador every Friday, then, from May 25, it will fly every Tuesday as well.

Using connecting flights, Germanwings will also launch the routes Berlin – Nador (March 30), Munich – Nador (May 30) London-Heathrow – Nador (March 30), Dresden – Nador (March 30) and Leipzig – Nador (from May 30).

Meanwhile, the carrier will also launch a new service from London Heathrow to Stuttgart and a new route from Stuttgart to Manchester next year as parent company Lufthansa shuffles its UK schedules.

From February 2012, the low-cost carrier (LCC) will begin operating five services a week to Manchester from Stuttagart operating with an A319.
