Southwest to launch four non-stop flights from Lambert-St Louis

News Tuesday, 24 January 2012 14:54 Written by  Dominic Welling

Southwest Airlines has announced it will launch four non-stop daily flights from Lambert-St Louis International Airport to San Antonio and New York LaGuardia.

From August 12, the carrier will add two daily flights from Lambert-St Louis to San Antonio International Airport and another two daily flights to New York LaGuardia Airport.

San Antonio is an additional non-stop destination for Lambert-St Louis, which was originally served by American Airlines until April 2010.

Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, airport director at Lambert-St Louis, said: “We’re excited that Southwest continues to see market growth at Lambert with a new destination and additional frequencies to New York, which is a key business and leisure destination.”

Southwest Airlines is the gateway’s largest carrier currently operating 84 daily flights to 32 non-stop destinations.

The August 2012 schedule will mean an increase to 88 daily flights to 34 non-stop destinations.

Also, as part of its new flight schedule starting in August, Southwest Airlines revealed that it would add three new daily non-stop flights between Atlanta and Norfolk airports, and three new daily nonstop flights between Atlanta and Louisville airports.

AirTran Airways, its wholly-owned subsidiary, will also add two new daily non-stop flights between Akron-Canton and Chicago Midway airports.
