Singaporean low-cost carrier (LCC) Tiger Airways has announced it will launch four weekly flights from Singapore to Kochi - Kerala’s financial district - from April 27.

 

 

New Japanese low-cost carrier (LCC), Jetstar Japan, is planning to launch operations earlier than planned and has confirmed its first destinations from its Tokyo base will be Osaka, Sapporo, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.

 

Royal Jordanian (RJ) is cutting five of its routes and reducing the frequencies on a number of others, in a bid to tackle rising costs and a decline in tourism due to events such as the Arab Spring.

Ryanair capitalises on Malev demise

Ryanair has announced it will re-open its Budapest base with the launch of 31 new routes, just hours after the Hungarian national carrier

Malév declared it had ceased operations due to “untenable” debts.

 

The European Commission is investigating whether the transatlantic joint venture between Air France-KLM, Alitalia and Delta – all members of the SkyTeam alliance – breaches EU antitrust rules and is detrimental to passengers in terms of fares.

 

Porter Airlines has boosted its service between Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport to 13 flights per day.
